A to Z Bookish Survery

Jamie over at The Perpetual Page Turner has decided we need to have some more fun on Fridays, so she came up with a great idea for a post that takes us all back to the days of Myspace and Xanga. I wasn't able to do this on Friday but I figured since I've got some free time I'd do it now. So I present to you my answers for the A - Z survey for as bookish guys and gals!

Author you've read the most books from:
Sarah Dessen, without a question. I've read everything that woman has written. She's just amazing!

Best sequel ever:
I'm going to have to go with Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons. So much action and drama and suspense and need I even mention CHASE? I applaud you Miss Simmons.

Currently reading:

Drink of choice while reading:
I actually really love water and so that's pretty much all I drink apart from the occasional cuppa or glass of lemonade. In the summer I love iced-tea though!

E-reader or physical book:
Physical books all the way. I don't own a kindle and really don't plan on ever getting one. I know, I know, I need to get into this century but I just CAN'T. I love my physical copies so much and I really think it's a shame that so many ARCs are e-copies now.

Fictional character you probably would have dated in high school:
Oh, God. Do I have to choose? I can't handle the pressure!
Okay, okay. I'm going to have to go with Dexter from This Lullaby because he's nice, kind of dorky, really fun and he plays guitar. So my heart wouldn't stand a chance. Definitely the kind of boy I'd have liked in school.

Glad you gave this book a chance:
The Art of Wishing by Lindsay Ribar. I love magic (I geek out whenever a new Derren Brown show is on) but never thought to read a book about it before.

Hidden gem book:
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen - the book that rekindled my love for reading!

Important moment in your reading life:
When I started Little Birdie. The blogging world introduced me to SO many new novels that I've loved and I've had such fun running this site and getting to chat to so many cool book-lovers.

Just finished:
A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell.

Kind of books you won't read:
Erotica. Smutty and no real storyline? Blech.

Longest book you've read:
I think it'd probably be one of the Harry Potter books.

Major book hangover because of:
I'm going to have to go with The Fifth Wave

Number of bookcases you own:
Just one very tall one. It's kind of cramped now though, but I don't have space for another right now!

One book you've read multiple times:
It's going to have to be another Dessen answer (can you tell I'm obsessed with her books?). I think I've probably read Along for the Ride the most.

Preferred place to read:
On the sofa swing in my garden. Sun shinning and some iced-tea? Perfect.

Quote that inspires you / gives you ALL THE FEELS:
There are genuinely too many to list. So I will direct you to Sarah Dessen's quote page because I KNOW all of my favourites are on there.

Reading regret:
When I read an excerpt from Fifty Shades of Grey online to see what everyone was mocking / fan-girling over.

Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in series):
I've finished all the series I've started and most of them are still ongoing. I haven't read Divergent yet though, so that's a series I'd like to start!

Three of your all-time favourite books:

Unapologetic fan-girl for:
All things John Green.

Very excited for this release:

Worst bookish habbit:
I flatten them out when I read / bend the covers so it's more comfy ... resulting in some seriously worn-out spines. I'm trying to buy more hard covers now so I can't do it haha

X marks the spot - start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
If I Stay by Gayle Forman

Your latest book purchase:
Well it wasn't a book per se but it was book-related! I ordered eight new bookmarks. They're so pretty and shiny and I can't stop staring at them.

Zzz-snatcher book (book that kept you up WAY late):
This happens EVERY TIME I read a book.

So that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed the survey and will pop over and visit The Perpetual Page Turner to see what other cool stuff Jamie has to offer!

  1. I love your answers and I identify with so many of them! The author I've read the most books from is totally Sarah Dessen, I love that woman and everything she writes! I actually read Fifty Shades of Grey and I think that is the worst decision I've ever made in my entire life. Eugh. I shudder just thinking about it.

    1. Sarah Dessen is just amazing. Pretty much everything she writes I want to quote!
And I'm quietly laughing to myself picturing your face as you read Fifty Shades. The bits I saw online were just ... *cringes* Although I did listen to a rather hilarious YouTube video of a guy reading a couple of pages in this mock-sexy voice. It was both disturbing and unbelievably funny.

    1. If you want to do it you should - I didn't do it on Friday either!
I'm not sure if there'll be another survey next week, but I'm sure Jamie has something equally as cool planned :)

  3. Anastasia Steele
We love you and your innocents. Stay true to Robert. Don't wear two faces. We love the real you. A real fan and a Mom. Girls look up to you. Can't you be a good role modle instead if getting caught in the sleezy look. You are to beautiful for that.
