Booking Through Thursday!

Book Through Thursday is a weekly meme where we answer questions about books and reading. This week's question is:

How do you feel about borrowing books from friends? Is this something you like to do? Does it make you feel uncomfortable or rushed while reading? Does it affect how you feel about the book you're reading, pressured into liking it?

Last book I borrowed:

Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1)

I'm just not a big book borrower, mostly because whenever a friend has a recommended me a book and lent me their copy I really haven't liked the story and almost much never finish it. Pretty much the only exception is the above book (which my brother lent to me).

I also feel like I have to read it within a certain time frame. People always say: 'oh have you finished that book yet? It's so great!' And in my head I'm just like:

What about you guys? Do you like borrowing books? Or do you feel pressured to finish them within a certain time and, like me, never bother finishing them?

  1. I'm with you. I don't like borrowing books from friends. I don't feel pressured, it's just that if I really want to read the book, I prefer to have my own copy. :)

    1. That's exactly why I don't borrow books form the library - if I liked it I'd never be able to part with it and end up getting charged in overdue fees haha

  2. I don't like to borrow or lend...but there is an exception, at MY BTT POST

  3. First of all- love the picture. You look beautiful. Second- I borrow books, but then they sit there, acquiring guilt and dust, and eventually I send it back. Then I buy then, or go to the library, and read them within a week.

I never said that what I did had to make sense:)

    1. Ooh *blushes insane amounts* thank you! You little flatterer! :D

Your logic is very flawed here, Katie lol. But at least you end up enjoying the books, even if it turns into an epic journey for you to read them :P

  4. I don't like to borrow books either.
