Where the Stars Still Shine {Waiting on Wednesday}

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, where we get to spotlight upcoming releases we're salivating for!

by Trish Doller
Expected publication: September 24th 2013

Stolen as a child from her large and loving family, and on the run with her mom for more than ten years, Callie has only the barest idea of what normal life might be like. She's never had a home, never gone to school, and has gotten most of her meals from laundromat vending machines. Her dreams are haunted by memories she’d like to forget completely. But when Callie’s mom is finally arrested for kidnapping her, and Callie’s real dad whisks her back to what would have been her life, in a small town in Florida, Callie must find a way to leave the past behind. She must learn to be part of a family. And she must believe that love--even with someone who seems an improbable choice--is more than just a possibility.

What are you guys waiting on this week?

Allie is a Pimm's-obsessed reader, who dreams of road tripping over America, learning to surf & becoming fluent in all the languages of her heritage (which, sadly, does not include Elvish). If she's not reading or blogging, you can find her catching up on Teen Wolf, or reigning supreme with Scrabble/Mario Kart

  1. Ooh I'm super excited for this one too! I really liked Trish Doller's other book, so I have high hopes for this one. I've heard some not-so-good things about it, though, but hopefully that ends up not being true.
    Great pick, Allie! :)

    1. Definitely one that grabbed my attention! The only other book I've read remotely similar is Living Dead Girl - hopefully it won't be as traumatising as that one was lol

    1. Thanks! I've been fiddling with it a bit - I don't have photo editing software, so I just used this free online one and it was awesome :)

  10. This sort of reminds me of Hopeless by Colleen Hoover but the synopsis sounds really good! Good choice this week Allie! :)

  14. Aha!I've seen this on Netgalley but didn't pay too much attention. There are just so many temptations on Netgalley that it's hard to keep your focus. And that blurb is definitely way too awesome. I am expecting that your read would involve swollen eyes and a lot of tissues.

    I hope you have a tearful experience while reading this one, Allie! :D And that birdie is a cutie <3

    1. Took the words right out of my mouth! I've had to take a break from Netgalley because I request more than I can handle!

      And thanks :D one of my favourite things to do is look for different birdies for all the memes hehe
