Miss Mabel's School for Girls {Cover Reveal & Giveaway} *Competition closed*

I've been eagerly awaiting Katie's book release and am so happy to be one of the blogs helping spread the word about her new novel Miss Mabel's School for Girls. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy and, let me tell you, this a great debut from a promising new writer.

Never underestimate the power of a determined witch.

Letum Wood is a forest of fog and deadfall, home to the quietly famous Miss Mabel’s School for Girls, a place where young witches learn the art of magic.

Sixteen-year-old Bianca Monroe has inherited a deadly curse. Determined to break free before it kills her, she enrolls in the respected school to confront the cunning witch who cast the curse: Miss Mabel.

Bianca finds herself faced with dark magic she didn’t expect, with lessons more dangerous than she could have ever imagined.

Will Bianca have the courage to save herself from the curse, or will Miss Mabel’s sinister plan be too powerful?

Miss Mabel’s School for Girls is the first novel in The Network Series, an exciting new fantasy collection. A gripping tale about the struggle to survive, it will take you to a new place and time, one you’ll never want to leave.

Love the sound of it? Want a copy of your very own?

And swing by the official website to enter Katie's awesome giveaway, where she's offering up some great prizes!

Now, without further ado, let's take a look at this gorgeous cover . . .

We all know I've never been a fan of books with giant faces on the front (yes, I am a cover snob, let's move on), so when I first saw this cover I was more than thrilled Katie had chosen something so eerie and elegantly simple. The fact that it's both mysterious and sinister captures the tone of the book wonderfully, and the textbook-feel makes it all the more perfect. I'd say this one is definitely a winner!

About Katie Cross

Katie grew up in the mountains of Idaho, where she still loves to play when she gets the chance. If she's not writing, you can find her travelling, working as a pediatric nurse, trail running with her husband and two dogs, or curled up with a book and a cup of chai.

  4. That is quite a nice cover...I'm with you on the faces aspect. There's only a FEW faces-books that I actually like. Mostly I really would rather not be told how the characters look. I have my own imagination to do that. ;)

    1. And sometimes the faces don't even look like the characters! Like the girl will have the wrong colour hair or something. Or be wearing this weird evening gown, when in the book the character is a total tomboy. IT MAKES NO SENSE!

  5. I love the blue words circling the cover! I'm not a huge fan of the color choices (the blue looks a bit weird with the red background) but I love the title (font and positioning)! So pretty.<3

    1. Oooh see I kind of love the blue – adds a bit of spark :D (not at all bias with blue being one of my favourite colours or anything haha)

  6. I like boarding school type stories and magic/witches! This sounds interesting! And I'm not a fan of covers with faces either! I like this cover!

    1. Covers that are simple, mysterious and not featuring zoomed in faces are MUCH more appealing
