Christmas is Coming (say adiós!)

Christmas is around the corner and that means that I shall now be abandoning you. If you don't know why, then you clearly don't stalk my twitter enough. But basically:

I'll be in Cancun over the holidays!

So a small hiatus is now in place until I return in the New Year (2015, guys! WOW). Since I'll be leaving you all, I figure it's my duty to make sure you have a great Christmas without me. I know, it's probably not possible (HAH), but I'll try anyway!
A good playlist is the key to any good Christmas! If technology is working correctly, a nice little Christmas player should have appeared around this window, with twenty of my favourite Christmas tracks on it!
(Now removed)

It's not Christmas without Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Attenborough!

If you're the opposite of me (AKA unprepared) and like to leave wrapping until the last minute, then make sure you have your tags and paper all picked out and ready! Remember, a bow and a ribbon will make all the difference and give your gift that extra fancy touch.

Also, if you're too lazy to wrap, a bit of Christmas-inspired tissue paper and a fancy present bag can be a great alternative.

It's important to keep your strength up, if you're going to be doing all of that heavy wrapping. Holiday treats are a must! After all, sugar is good for energy, so is therefore good for you . . . right?

I'd really recommend you try your hand at making your own Christmas goodies, if that's not something you do already. Stuff like chocolate coins and festive doughnuts are easier to buy, but the rest are so simple to make and super fun to design.

Cupcakes can look festive with just a touch of the right fondant, cookies only need a bit of piped icing, and if you put some whipped cream on a thirded strawberry it'll make an instant Santa!

As for Yule Logs, my favourite holiday treat, they're not too difficult to make at all, as long a you have an electric mixer (for the cream) and a steady hand (for the rolling).

When Christmas evening hits, it's time for a seasonal onesie and some fluffy Rudolph slippers. But during the day, Christmas needs a touch of glamour. And by glamour, I mean a Christmas jumper. Because there's no need to get too fancy!

If you want to dress it up, Christmas jumpers go well with anything, including leather trousers or a pair of fancy jeans. And you can top it all off with some festive shoes to create a look that's dressy, but not over the top.

Now you've got everything sorted, it's time to kick back and enjoy the most wonderful dinner you'll have all year. If your family is anything like mine, then Christmas dinners are absolutely huge, so make sure you have some stretchy jeans on hand to change into if the eating gets serious!

I'll be quite jealous of you all, chowing down on turkey and roast potatoes, while I'm forced to forgo a traditional Christmas dinner this year. I wonder what I'll be having instead?

Have a beyond wonderful Christmas bloglings!

I'll be thinking of you all while I sip Margaritas on the beach. See you in the New Year!

Allie is about to embark on a journey to Cancun for the holidays. Her parents are going too, but it's the first time she's ever spent Christmas away from the rest of her crazy-huge family. She hopes desperately that Christmas on the beach will also mean a Mexican surfing instructor with great abs, who'll bring her Margaritas.

I've already treated myself to two of the Home Alones, Elf and The Holiday and I want to binge the rest in the coming days. And urgh, I wish I could where a christmas jumper but with weather ranging from 35-45 celsius, that'd be suicidal. Instead, I'll wear a christmas bangle or something lol

HAVE FUN AND I'M INCREDIBLY JEALOUS. I'm going to obviously (attempt) to bake my feelings away while you're gone HAHAHAHAHA ENJOY THE SUN, SLEEP AND SAND. WOOHOOOOO!

Oh, Home Alone is the best. That film *sigh*. And the NY one is just as good!!!

You in a Christmas jumper would be hilarious? A surfer in a Santa hat? A spider under the mistletoe?

  12. OH YOU POOR LITTLE MITE BEING FORCED TO FORGO A TRADITIONAL DINNER. I weep for you. I do.
But seriously...cancel Christmas. How can we even survive if you're in Cancun and not dutifully attending to our needs and questions on the internet? LIKE THIS IS UNFAIR, ALLIE, HOW COULD YOU?
    XD
Have a good time though, and congrats, I'm starving after reading this post...*goes off to crave turkey*

  13. Oh, Cancun sounds amazing! Margaritas sound equally amazing. I am quite jealous, is the situation. But do have an amazing time! Also, we eat ravioli for Christmas, and it wasn't until I was an adult that I realized no one else does that. So you have margaritas, I'll have ravioli (and what the hell, maybe a margarita for me too!), and we'll call them Christmas dinner ;) Merry Christmas!!

    1. Margaritas were to die for. And the mojitos. By the beach. All day every day. WHY DID I HAVE TO COME HOME?

You have ravioli? I'm Italian and even I think that's odd LOL. BUT IT'S DELICIOUS SO WHO CARES?

  15. I absolutely LOVE those Converse!

What a way to spend Christmas! In the arms of a hot Cancunian. Is that what they're called? Sipping cocktails, having sunscreen smeared on you from doting cabana boys *happy sigh* We'll need photos of said cabana boys, purely for some sort of educational purposes of course.

Have a brilliant getaway AND non traditional Christmas and can't wait to hear all about it when you return <3

    1. Aren't they awesome? I WANT A PAIR.

Oh, I must've missed the cabana boys. NO FAIR. I WANT A REFUND. I had to apply my own sun lotion like a cat lady. Oh, life. Why are you so hard?
