Christmas is Coming (say adiós!)
Christmas is around the corner and that means that I shall now be abandoning you. If you don't know why, then you clearly don't stalk my twitter enough. But basically:
I'll be in Cancun over the holidays!
A good playlist is the key to any good Christmas! If technology is working correctly, a nice little Christmas player should have appeared around this window, with twenty of my favourite Christmas tracks on it!
It's not Christmas without Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Attenborough!
If you're the opposite of me (AKA unprepared) and like to leave wrapping until the last minute, then make sure you have your tags and paper all picked out and ready! Remember, a bow and a ribbon will make all the difference and give your gift that extra fancy touch.
Also, if you're too lazy to wrap, a bit of Christmas-inspired tissue paper and a fancy present bag can be a great alternative.
It's important to keep your strength up, if you're going to be doing all of that heavy wrapping. Holiday treats are a must! After all, sugar is good for energy, so is therefore good for you . . . right?
I'd really recommend you try your hand at making your own Christmas goodies, if that's not something you do already. Stuff like chocolate coins and festive doughnuts are easier to buy, but the rest are so simple to make and super fun to design.
Cupcakes can look festive with just a touch of the right fondant, cookies only need a bit of piped icing, and if you put some whipped cream on a thirded strawberry it'll make an instant Santa!
As for Yule Logs, my favourite holiday treat, they're not too difficult to make at all, as long a you have an electric mixer (for the cream) and a steady hand (for the rolling).
When Christmas evening hits, it's time for a seasonal onesie and some fluffy Rudolph slippers. But during the day, Christmas needs a touch of glamour. And by glamour, I mean a Christmas jumper. Because there's no need to get too fancy!
If you want to dress it up, Christmas jumpers go well with anything, including leather trousers or a pair of fancy jeans. And you can top it all off with some festive shoes to create a look that's dressy, but not over the top.
Now you've got everything sorted, it's time to kick back and enjoy the most wonderful dinner you'll have all year. If your family is anything like mine, then Christmas dinners are absolutely huge, so make sure you have some stretchy jeans on hand to change into if the eating gets serious!
I'll be quite jealous of you all, chowing down on turkey and roast potatoes, while I'm forced to forgo a traditional Christmas dinner this year. I wonder what I'll be having instead?
Have a beyond wonderful Christmas bloglings!
I'll be thinking of you all while I sip Margaritas on the beach. See you in the New Year!
Allie is about to embark on a journey to Cancun for the holidays. Her parents are going too, but it's the first time she's ever spent Christmas away from the rest of her crazy-huge family. She hopes desperately that Christmas on the beach will also mean a Mexican surfing instructor with great abs, who'll bring her Margaritas.
